Four steps, no shortcuts
A wrap lives or dies on the prep and the edges. Buff X lays every panel by hand in a climate-controlled bay and puts the workmanship warranty in writing.
Choose the color and finish in the shop with real film samples, not a screen. Two-tone, stripes, and accents are all on the table.
The car gets washed and decontaminated, and any trim, handles, or lights in the way come off so the film can wrap the edges, not stop at them.
Each panel is laid and squeegeed by hand in our climate-controlled bay, one piece at a time, with the edges tucked out of sight.
Every edge and recess is post-heated so it stays put, then checked under the lights before you get the keys back, with our workmanship warranty in writing.
Looks like fresh paint. The easiest to keep clean.
A soft sheen, no mirror shine. Hides dust and prints.
Flat, zero reflections. Hand wash only, no wax.
Specialty films, quoted per car.

For most drivers, a vinyl wrap is the better way to change color. At Buff X a full wrap starts at $2,800, takes 4 to 5 days instead of the weeks a repaint can take, comes in finishes paint cannot match, and peels off years later with the factory paint still underneath. A repaint is permanent, and a non-factory color can hurt resale. The one thing a wrap will not do is fix bad paint: it needs a sound surface to stick to.
| Vinyl wrap | Repaint | |
|---|---|---|
| Changes the color | Yes | Yes |
| Reversible | Yes | No |
| Your paint stays unharmed | Yes | No |
| Gloss, satin, matte, chrome, color shift | Yes | Partly |
| Shields paint from light scuffs | Partly | No |
| Time in shop | 4-5 days | Up to weeks |
Yellow checks mean partly: a wrap takes light scuffs, not rock chips, and paint offers fewer finishes.
Want the factory color kept chip-free instead of changed? That is paint protection film, a clear film built to absorb rock chips, and a color PPF does both jobs in one film.

Buff X Customization in Dearborn Heights, Michigan has worked on more than 5,000 cars since 2018, and nothing transforms your car faster than a wrap! We lay 3M cast vinyl over your factory paint by hand in our climate-controlled bay, one panel at a time, with the edges tucked out of sight. Gloss, satin, or matte, in just about any color, and the paint underneath stays untouched.
A full wrap starts at $2,800 for a coupe, $3,200 for a sedan, and $4,500 for an SUV or truck. Hood wraps are $395, roof wraps start at $425, and tuxedo wraps start at $1,400. Chrome, color-shift, and textured films are quoted per car. A full wrap takes 4 to 5 days, lasts 3 to 5 years with hand washing, comes with a workmanship warranty in writing, and peels off clean when you are ready for a change.

Financing is available on jobs over $1,000.
A full wrap averages 4 to 5 days in the shop at Buff X. The car is washed and decontaminated, trim that is in the way comes off, each panel is wrapped by hand in a climate-controlled bay, and the edges are post-heated and inspected before you get the keys back.
Most wraps at Buff X get on the schedule within a week or two, and the car spends 4 to 5 days in the shop on average. We keep you updated through the entire process. Give us a call at (313) 200-7007 or fill out the quote form.
No. A wrap installed over sound factory paint comes off clean, and the paint underneath is untouched. The film actually shields the paint from light scuffs and sun while it is on. Wraps need solid paint to stick to, so peeling clear coat or a poor repaint has to be fixed before wrapping.
A wrap from Buff X typically lasts 3 to 5 years, and how you wash it decides which end of that range you land on. Wait a week after the install before the first wash so the adhesive cures, then hand wash and skip high-pressure and brush car washes. Matte and satin films skip polish and wax entirely. Garaging the car and keeping it out of constant sun stretches the life of the film. When it is time for a change, the wrap comes off and the factory paint underneath looks the way it did the day the film went on.
Yes. At Buff X, a hood wrap is $395 on any vehicle, a roof wrap is $425 on a coupe or sedan and $750 on an SUV, and a tuxedo wrap (the pillars and up) is $1,400 on a coupe or sedan and $1,900 on an SUV. Mirrors, stripes, accents, and chrome delete, which blacks out the window trim, grille, badges, and mirror caps, are priced per vehicle, so request a quote or call (313) 200-7007 with your car.
Buff X wraps come in gloss, satin, and matte finishes in a wide range of solid colors, all covered by the standard full wrap price, which starts at $2,800 for a coupe. Chrome, color-shift, and textured films are quoted separately. Multiple colors can be combined in one wrap for two-tone looks, stripes, or accents.
Yes. Buff X removes old wraps, cleans off the leftover adhesive, and checks the paint underneath before any new film goes on. Removal is quoted per vehicle because the age and condition of the old wrap change how long it takes.
A vinyl wrap changes the color or finish of the car and offers light protection while it is on. Paint protection film (PPF) is a thick clear film built to absorb rock chips and road debris, and at Buff X it starts at $2,300 for the front end. If you want a new look, wrap it. If you want to keep the factory paint chip-free, PPF is the right service.
Wrapping a work van, truck, or fleet with your branding? That is its own service: commercial vehicle wraps. A lot of drivers pair a wrap with window tinting while the car is here. Keeping the paint color and only blacking out the trim? That is a chrome delete. For a matte look with rock-chip protection, see stealth PPF. See more finished wrap jobs. We wrap cars for drivers from Dearborn, Livonia, Westland, Canton, Taylor, and the rest of the areas we serve, all from our window tinting, PPF, and car customization shop in Dearborn Heights.
Tell us your car and the color you have in mind. We’ll come back with an exact price and the soonest week we can get you in. Full wraps start at $2,800.
