Guys did a great job on my full wrap, calipers and window tint. Easiest 5 stars I've ever given. Great prices too. Sent me pics along the way so I knew how it was progressing.

Buff X Customization, located in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, has tinted more than 5,000 cars, and our installers have decades of tinting vehicles under their belt. Every film is computer-cut to your exact year, make, and model, so no blade ever touches your glass. Every vehicle is also thoroughly inspected before we hand back the keys.
Our three film options are carbon, ceramic, and nano ceramic film (every install comes with a lifetime warranty on our work). Two front windows run $80 to $150, a full vehicle $225 to $425, and a full vehicle plus the windshield $295 to $495, depending on the film. All three films block up to 99% of UV rays, and infrared heat rejection climbs from 59% with carbon to 89% with ceramic and up to 98% with nano ceramic. All customers are in and out within 2 hours.

All three films block up to 99% of UV and carry the lifetime warranty. The difference is the heat you feel. Carbon rejects up to 59% of infrared heat and is the value pick. Ceramic steps up to 89%, which is what keeps a parked car livable in a Michigan summer. Nano ceramic tops out at 98% with the best optical clarity, especially at night.

Heads up: ceramic tint is window film. If you are after gloss and paint protection, that is ceramic coating, a different service we also do.

Michigan is one of the more tint-friendly states. Under Michigan Vehicle Code section 257.709, the rear side windows and the rear window can be tinted as dark as you want, all the way down to 5% limo. The windshield and the two front side windows may only carry tint on the top 4 inches, and no window film may reflect more than 35% of light.
Drivers who are light sensitive for medical reasons can go darker up front with a signed letter from a physician or optometrist. We tint cars for Michigan roads every day, so before anything is cut we will tell you exactly where your setup lands.
Reviewed August 2026 against the Michigan Vehicle Code.
Four steps, no shortcuts
A tint is only as good as its film and install. Buff X prioritizes craftsmanship and installs Uviron film.
Every pane gets cleaned and decontaminated before film comes near it. Trapped dust is where bubbles come from, so this step never gets rushed.
Your film is computer-cut for your exact year, make, and model. No blades against your glass, your seals, or your defroster lines.
Each window is laid, squeegeed flat, and seated by hand, one pane at a time, in a controlled space.
We check every window against the light before you get the keys back, then walk you through care instructions and the warranty.

A full vehicle is $225 in carbon film, $325 in ceramic, and $425 in nano ceramic. Adding the windshield is $70 more on any film. Just the two front windows are $80, $120, or $150, and the fronts plus the windshield are $150, $220, or $275. Those are set prices, not starting points, and every one includes the lifetime warranty.
About 30 minutes for the two front windows, 45 minutes for a windshield, an hour for the fronts plus the windshield, an hour and a half for a full vehicle, and an hour and 45 minutes for a full vehicle with the windshield. All customers are in and out within 2 hours, unless they have additional work being done.
Tint appointments book up fast. We usually have a slot or two open the next day, though it varies with the schedule. Call (313) 200-7007 or book online and we will get you in at the first open slot.
Give the film 2 to 3 days to cure before the windows go down. Moisture between the film and the glass needs that time to dry out, and rolling a window early can shift the film. We go over care instructions before you leave.
No. Carbon, ceramic, and nano ceramic films are all non-metallic, so they do not block cell signal, GPS, keyless entry, or toll transponders. That interference problem comes from older metallic films, which we do not install.
Yes. Tint removal is $25 per window and $50 for a windshield. If your old film has bubbled or turned purple, we strip it clean and can install new film the same visit.
Yes. Taillight tint is $75 per light, so $150 for a pair, and headlight tint starts at $200. Both come in light, mid, or dark smoke.
Every tint install at Buff X uses Uviron film and carries a lifetime warranty that covers bubbling, peeling, and fading. That is separate from the Not At Fault Tint Warranty, a $40 flat add-on that covers the cost of tint removal when the reason is not the shop's fault, like getting ticketed for your tint or having to strip it before selling or turning in the car. Ask about it when you book.
Shades run from 50%, which is subtle, down to 5% limo. 35% is the popular daily-driver look, and 20% reads blacked out while still being workable at night. If you are not sure, come by and we will show you the shades on real glass before anything is cut.
While your car is here, a lot of drivers pair tint with front end PPF or a detail. Add windshield protection film to keep chips off the front glass, or a chrome delete to finish the blacked-out look. See finished cars on our work. We tint cars for drivers from Dearborn, Livonia, Westland, Canton, Taylor, and the rest of the areas we serve, all from our window tinting, PPF, and car customization shop in Dearborn Heights.
Pick your film, book online in about a minute, and you are in and out within 2 hours.
